Gerhild Diesner

*1915   +1995  

She studied at the Chelsea Art School and at the School of Art in Brighton under Charles Knight 1935-37 and at the Academy of Applied Art in Munich under Ernst Dombrowski and Emil Pretorius. Her primary medium was oil painting and watercolour with a free application of paint, similar to the French painter Henri Matisse.

In the future, the collection will be expanded primarily through the purchases of current contemporary art associated with the art prizes. However, the jury will also recommend annual purchases to the Board of Directors to supplement the existing holdings of recent Tyrolean art history.
