Gerlind Zeilner

*1971   lives and works in Vienna

Zeilner studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Gunter Damisch 1993-98, Anton Faistauer Award 2008. Zeilner's portraits, which are created using interwoven architectural elements and wide brushes in egg tempera, are based on card models that are transposed sculpturally into the painting. “I see architecture and the heterogeneity of spaces as a metaphor for the situations in which people find themselves, and I visualise events and dreams as layers within the spaces.”

Discover our Collection

Discover the almost 1,200 works in our constantly growing collection in our online database. In the future, the collection will be expanded primarily through the purchases of current contemporary art associated with the art prizes. However, the jury will also recommend annual purchases to the Board of Directors to supplement the existing holdings of recent Tyrolean art history.
