Heinz Klima

*1924   +1967

Klima studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1948, under Josef Dobrowsky, Albert Paris von Gütersloh, Sergius Pauser, Herbert Boeckl and Fritz Wotruba. Klima's symbolism is influenced by Austrian and German Expressionists. His enthusiasm for French painting (Picasso, Braque) is reflected in his formal closeness to Informal Painting and Tachism, and the very restrained prints he produced.

Discover the almost 1,200 works in our constantly growing collection in our online database. In the future, the collection will be expanded primarily through the purchases of current contemporary art associated with the art prizes. However, the jury will also recommend annual purchases to the Board of Directors to supplement the existing holdings of recent Tyrolean art history.
