Peter Prandstetter

*1925   +2021

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Sergius Pauser and Herbert Boeckl 1954-60. Between 1971 and 1977 he produced seven windows for Pfarrkirche Heiligenkreuz in Hall. Along with a large body of work consisting of watercolours, reverse glass painting was his preferred medium. Starting from the frame, which could be the frame of a painting, window or door, he painted on glass, without any initial drawing, using a thick glaze painting technique.

Discover the almost 1,200 works in our constantly growing collection in our online database. In the future, the collection will be expanded primarily through the purchases of current contemporary art associated with the art prizes. However, the jury will also recommend annual purchases to the Board of Directors to supplement the existing holdings of recent Tyrolean art history.
