Norbert Drexel

He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Josef Dombrowsky 1950-57. Many of his paintings are characterised by smoky variations of colour, and the blurring of the outlines of his figures and objects. His seemingly peaceful themes from time to time include a hint of the macabre. (Elenore Gürtler)
