Between image and space - Monique S. Desto and Sofie Thorsen

Both adapt the exhibition space into an image carrier, thereby exploring the limits of the material as well as the architecture. The painting mutates into an installation, the line becomes a spatial intervention. Despite their different formal realisations, the two artists' approaches reveal parallels in their exploration of the spatial potential of their respective media. Desto and Thorsen have set out to explore space together with their works. In some places, the two artistic positions come close to each other, relate to each other and influence each other. At a few points, their works even come into direct contact with each other. Nevertheless, both artists still have space to focus on the potential of their own work.
