Georg Loewit

*1959   lives and works in Innsbruck

Loewit studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Trained as a sculptor, designer and goldsmith in Innsbruck, Freiburg im Breisgau and Munich. The central theme of his bronze sculptures and works on canvas is the spatial malleability of visually stagnant structures. “The basic idea behind all forms of life and existence, but also behind everything and every type of system, characterises my perception and is the starting point for my work.” (George Loewit)
