Tschaikner studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and in Paris. From 1962 to 1970 worked as a tour guide, portraitist, skiing instructor, advertising graphics artist, mason, art restorer, caricaturist, taxi driver, stage painter and sculptor, waiter, architect, salesman, sculptor and painter in Vienna, Paris, Nice, London, Munich, Bolzano, Milan and Innsbruck.
