Franco Kappl

*1962  

Kappl studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Arnulf Rainer 1982-89. Awarded the Max Weiler Pize 1987. His large-format works are created using an immediate painterly process, with compositions of wide areas of paint and a strong contrast between light and dark.
