He studied at the School of Artistic Photography with Friedl Kubelka and with Gabriele Rothemann at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. In collaboration with Annette Sonnewend he founded the performance group CIE. AGAR AGAR in 2004 and with Siggi Hofer the artist collective ob de tafel in 2020. Starting from photography, his work alternates between photography, installation, sculpture and performance. Strasser intervenes in institutional as well as private spaces: by appropriating and transforming found architectural situations, he reveals cultural and institutional systems of representation and expands his architecture-critical investigations into anthropological questions by continuously analyzing, relating and staging the factors of humans, space and architecture.
