Herbert Hinteregger

*1970   lives and works in Kirchberg and Vienna

Hinteregger studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna with Walter Obholzer and Erwin Bohatsch. Over the years, Hinteregger consequently developed an artistic vocabulary that focuses on the use of ballpoint pen-paint as a painting material. In addition to almost monochrome panels, for which he initially pressed bic pens in order to apply the resulting paint to the canvas with a brush or sponge, and mostly geometric ballpoint pen drawings, he also created numerous spatial works, the main element of which is the transparent sleeves of the empty pen.
