Jakob Gasteiger

*1953   lives and works in Vienna and the Weinviertel

He studied at the Mozarteum in Salzburg 1970-74, received an award from the city of Innsbruck in 1999. In his work, Gasteiger blurs the boundaries between painting, drawing and sculpture, so that the image appears to be both drawing and sculpture. This experimental approach to material, form, colour and space keeps provoking new configurations of art.
